A Seattle company has developed a "bacon salt"  which gives the same taste as the original but without the actual bacon. The substitute, which comes in original, hickory and peppered flavours, is a combination of sea salt, garlic, paprika, onion,  MSG, flour and a few chemicals.

The product is reportedly fit for consumption by people with religious dietary restrictions but it does not a Halal certification.
